Dave Spangenburg had a flock of White-winged Crossbills at the 4-H camp on Struble Rd in Stokes SF. This is the road that goes from Rt 206 to Tillman Ravine. He said they were in conifers near the camp buildings.

The Sussex CBC recorded 84 species including: American Wigeon, Red-breasted Merganser, Redhead, 7 Bald Eagles, Rough-legged Hawk, Virginia Rail, 2 Iceland Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Barred Owl, Gray Catbird, Baltimore Oriole & Pine Siskins. A Long-tailed Duck was seen on count week only.

TheWalnut Valley CBC had 90 species including Blue Goose, Cackling Goose, Pintail, Redhead, 10 Bald Eagles, 2 Golden Eagles, Red-shouldered Hawk, Kestrel, Merlin, 2 Peregrines, Ruffed Grouse, Snipe, Barred Owl, Horned Lark, Raven, Catbird, Towhee, Chipping Sparrow, Snow Bunting, Purple Finch, Pine Siskin, and a possible Clay-colored Sparrow. Mammals seen included 5 Black Bears, Opossum, Red Fox, Coyote, Otter and Mink.

Veteran Memorial Park, Stillwater: Mike Tracy photographed a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Also at the park were a Yellow-rumped Warbler and a pair of adult Bald Eagles.

Blairstown: Dennis Briede, Tom Halliwell & Alan Boyd did a 'Big Sit' on Dennis' deck at the base of the Kittatinny Ridge. Thrity-four species were noted including 2 Screech Owls, 4 Pileated Woodpeckers, 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk, 1 Coopers Hawk, 2 Red-tailed Hawks, 1 adult Bald Eagle, 14 E Bluebirds, 62 Robins, 33 Cedar WW, 2 Purple Finches, 3 Flickers, 2 Tree Sparrows, 1 Fox Sparrow and 1 RB Nuthatch. One Black Bear was also seen.

On Lake Susquehanna in Blairstown, Wade & Sharon Wander had 2 Great Blue Herons, 45 Ring-necked Ducks, and 1 drake Wood Duck. On big Swartswood Lake: 1 PB Grebe, 2 C Loons, 2 GBH, 50 Gadwall, 5 drake Wood Ducks, 1 drake GW Teal, and 40 Hooded Mergs. Also: C Mergs, Ring-necked Ducks, Buffleheads, C Goldeneyes, Mallards & Black Ducks.

Lake Musconetcong: From the Rt 183 end of the lake, Tom Halliwell observed a drake Redhead, a female C Goldeneye, several Ruddy Ducks, Lesser Scaup, Hooded Mergs and Buffleheads. Also a DC Cormorant.

Culver Lake: Fred Weber had a male Redhead at the causeway end of the lake along with a female RB Merganser and other ducks. A Red Bat was flying over his house near the lake at 2 p.m.

Thrirty-nine species were noted including 1 E Screech Owl, 317 Am Robins, 2 Purple Finch, 5 Pine Siskins, 9 Flickers, 5 Pileated WP, 13 E Bluebirds, 21 Cedar WW, 10 Sharp-shins, 6 Coopers, 1 N Harrier, 13 Red-tails, 2 Red-shouldereds, 5 C Ravens, 2 RB Nuthatches, 1 Chipping Sparrow, 1 Fox Sparrow, 5 RB Gulls.

A field trip at Kittatinny Valley State park led by Tom Halliwell and Joe Burgiel had an Orange-crowned Warbler. It was well seen by the whole group in the fields north of Twin Lakes (off Goodale Rd.)

Tom Halliwell and Alan Boyd had the Red-throated Loon at Culver Lake. Also on the lake were 20 C Goldeneye and a male Redhead. The Redhead was with Ring-necks in the cove behind the vegetable stand on Rt 206 (near Myrtle Ave). A Pectoral Sandpiper was with Killdeer at the causeway at the back of the lake.

Kittatinny Valley SP: Tom Halliwell had a subadult Golden Eagle over the park office. At White Lake he had Coots, Ring-necked Ducks, Wood Ducks, BW Teal, Killdeer, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Lesser Yellowlegs. On the trail by the Twin Lakes parking lot there were WC Sparrows, Rusty Blackbirds, Purple Finches, Palm Warblers and American Pipits.

One Black Bear was also seen.

Forty-six species were noted including: 3 E Screech Owls, 20 RT Hummingbirds, 111 Cedar WW, 7 E Bluebirds, 2 RB Nuthatches, 1 Wood Thrush, 3 Purple Finches, 4 Pileated WP, 2 RB Grosbeaks, 1 Least FC, 1 Magnolia Warbler, 2 E Kingbirds, 1 Scarlet Tanager, 1 SS Hawk, 1 imm Bald Eagle, 1 BW Hawk, 1 RS Hawk, 2 Great Egrets. A coyote was seen being chased by 4 deer.
